SHEMMA NAZDJANOVA was admitted to practice law in California in 2002 and has extensive background in employment and family-based immigration, civil litigation, including personal injury claims, bankruptcy, as well as and general corporate matters.
Prior to that she worked for LeBoeuf, Lamb, Green & MacRae, a law firm in London, United Kingdom. Her main responsibilities included researching and analyzing various kinds of civil legal issues and participated in developing BOT contracts involving distribution of petroleum. She also worked for Mobil Oil Corporation, now known as Exxon Mobil, participating in negotiations of production sharing agreements, and preparing memoranda regarding various taxation and corporate law issues.
Her initial legal experience was focused upon petroleum law. She worked as legal counsel for Oil and Gas Construction State Company in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and Ministry of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan, a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Central Asia. For the State Company, she prepared and negotiated on behalf of the governmental agency national and multinational contracts such as construction agreements, loan agreements, and supply agreements, and represented the agency in various civil proceedings.
For the Ministry of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan, she prepared and negotiated on behalf of the Ministry national and multinational contracts such as production sharing agreements, joint-venture agreements, and project financing agreements, prepared and drafted memoranda as to issues of investment, taxation and enforcement of foreign arbitration award and general corporation law, and represented the Ministry for various administrative proceedings. She also participated in drafting of the Petroleum Law of Turkmenistan.
Shemma Nazdjanova holds an LL.M from Boston University School of Law and received her LL.B from Turkmen State University School of Law.
